Deactivating sessions

With 6.19.5, when i try deactivating sessions, its not getting effected.I'm forced to use dialog box to deactivate

Can you please describe a bit more detailed what are you doing in which dialog?

Incase o wish to change sessions in a certain subject,i pick a session and click deactivate,its showing x meaning it has been reduced but upon checking total sessions,the number hasn't changed.Unticking the activating box in the dialogue box is the one effecting the desired change

I tried and clicking Deactivate in the Activities dialog is the same as deselecting the checkbox in the Modify activity dialog. Maybe you can explain more detailed, and show some screenshots.

I want to reduce 1 session in Maths 1P. Upon deactivating,it shows one lessons is inactive but the number still remains as 45.It only works when i deselect the active box.
