What is the best way to manage 2 lunch time ?

Students from level 1 and 2 must eat between 11:30 to 12:15.
Students from level 3, 4 and 5 must eat between 12:15 to 13:00.

Should I use two  dummy activities with then constraint activity preferred starting time ?

Thanks

Constraint students set not available - is better (faster) for the algorithm than with dummy activities. It can be applied in your case, because you know the exact hour of lunch. If it should have been one hour from two possible hours, you should have used dummy activities.

My school has a similar situation. The real problem is not the student. As Liviu pointed out, students not available time is the easiest and best way to do that.

However, in my school, I have to make sure that all teachers will have a proper lunch time. Imagine if you teach Level 1 and 3, you may not have lunch at all. The solution that I used was to assign lunch activities to all teachers. Then, add the "a set of activities (subject=lunch) have a set of preferred time slots" constraint with just the 2 lunch hours allowed.

Yes, it was my situation too :)
And one more idea: maybe useful to create a virtual room because if your students have ClassRoom, they will be placed into CR and can't anyone else use this room.
