case situation - number of students per activity

Institution = University
length of studies 4 years  (8 semesters) extended to 6 years (12 semesters)
# of studs = 10000

We have 700 activities (700 courses) . Each course  has a different  number of students . We currently enter the number of students per course manually .
Please advice on the use of years-groups-subgroups to skip entering the #s manually (if it can be done)

I am not sure I understand correctly. You can edit the number of students for each students set and add each activity with the number of students = -1 (automatically computed).
