How to edit/remove a subactivity

Well

A1 should be spiltted into tree subactivity: 1+1+2
By mistake, I splitted it into four subactivities: 1+1+2+1
I tried to remove the fourth subactivity, but found no way !!
So please:

1-How can I remove the fourth surplus subactivity ?
In the Data ---> activity dialog,  removing a compenont, removes also all the parent activity!! I am presented with a warning:

Remove activity?
There will also be removed the related activities from the same larger split activity

In Data ----> modify subactivity
there is no option to "remove"

2-in general, how to edit "split into" for an activity?

2- what the goal of "active" checkbox found in activtiy dialog?
what does mean activat or deactive an activity? is it there but not scheduled, and counted in statistics?

There is no easy way to remove a component. You can manually edit the XML .fet file. Or just remove this activity (all sub-activities) and add a new one. Or, make the 4th component inactive (I don't like this solution).

Not active means that it is not scheduled. I just looked in the sources and it seems that in statistics I only count active activities. Please verify that, though.

to re-use  last year .fet file,
what about
-removing all activities at once, so Data keeps only subjects, teachers and groups ?
or
- removing all teachers from all activities (because teachers dont teach the same groups every year)
or
- removing all groups from all activities

and I spend nealy ONE hour counting periods for teacher  Eng1!!
in Statistics, teacher  Eng1 has only 20 hours
in Data  ---> activities, I count 21 hours  for him
finaly, I realised that I has deactivted one hour component by mistake

so, is it possible to add this line into activity window:

Activity:
Teacher=fr4
Subject=fr
Students=2Lg -1
Id=1
Activity group id=1
Duration=1
Total duration=5
Total active: XX
Active: yes
Total number of students=0

I'll think about that. The first requirement is complicated, also is the second. I don't like the second requirement (with showing active duration), but I added it in the TODO.

sorry, removing groups doesnot make sense, because, activities should keep group's information
Groups have the same set of activities every year

So the most important is:
-removing all activities at once, so Data keeps only subjects, teachers and groups ?
but this is not so good, as we will lost time and space constraints related to those activities
So, the best of the best is:
- removing all teachers from all activities (because teachers dont teach the same groups every year)
so we can re-assign new teachers to groups
