Hello everybody,

As you know, the server lalescu.ro has no SSL support (it is http, not https). This might pose security problems for forum authentication. My browser (and probably yours as well) tells me the connection is insecure.

I need advice regarding adding SSL for the FET forum section of the server lalescu.ro. I would like to add https only for the forum authentication, so that in case the SSL certificate expires people can still use the lalescu.ro server normally. Or should I add https for the whole forum? Or for the whole lalescu.ro site?

How can I use configure the FET forum (SMF 2.0.14) to use SSL for login only?

My host, hostgator.com, offers Positive SSL (the one that I am considering).

Just added SSL for lalescu.ro :)

Visit https://lalescu.ro/ and follow the FET links.

Now I need to redirect http to https.

hostgator.com is a very cool and powerful hosting site .. so I think the site is safe .. the problem in design .. the site lacks some vitality

Yes, indeed.

Some colorful, large and beautiful icons near the name of each  board will do the trick. ..As the banner is lacking ..

i fear that suggestion will be only beautiful on a larger screen. But I check the forum also sometimes with my smart phone and/or with my old 7 inch tablet. Large icons mean more unneeded spaces will be used and it will become more confusing.

During web design .. we are dealing in percentage. These icons are automatically reduced. But if we specify a certain pixel size for an image, we see confusing... sorry for my english..I hope that the idea is clear

You are right, but it is hard for me to design better the FET homepage. Maybe in the future.

When you want to edit a site, the rule(my rule) is that the changes do not exceed 15% .. The second rule is to quote from the famous sites that have the same colors..Example of our site is Facebook ( bright blue at the top of the FB page and the green button color are fantastic) .. Some rattles only .. without exceeding 15%

This script "Simple Machine" I have not used it before, but if it looks like the rest of the scripts, you will find a control panel that changes the colors easily and does not need time or for great design.

I saw your two screen shots, but I do not understand the idea.

The forum does not allow easy customization to add graphics. Also, I prefer keeping the things simpler. But I will think about this.
