Hello,

I have noticed that your server had internal error.

This is reply on your message:
QuoteYou cannot use a single room for two activities in FET. That is why you need to add a dummy room for the second activity. This room will be considered by you the same room as the room chosen for the first activity.

Do I need to create as much as dummy rooms as it is number of cases where two subjects are taught in the same room.

To constrain 2 activities to be at the same time, please use constraint activities same starting times.

I saw your file, it is not good:

1) You didn't respect FET indications for adding activities with split larger than 5. Why didn't you?

hmm,  please explain with more detail.

2) You added too many activities for year 6. Why didn't you split year 6?

Since year 6 and year 5 have only one student I want to put them that they are always attending all classess together.  Thus, their activites begin and end at the same time.  Do I have to create categories etc. just for one student for year 5 and 6?

Thanks,

veki

Your reply was originally posted, I don't know what about that server error, maybe you should just ignore it. What error did you get?

This is my answer (duplicate on forum):

You can create as many dummy rooms as you want. But it is simpler to only create the necessary number (so that there is enough space for activities). If you have for instance activities A1, A2, A3, A4, A5 and A6, and A1 & A2 need to be in the same room R, and A3 & A4 need to be in the same room R, and A5 & A6 need to be in the same room R, then add real room R and dummy room R2.

If you want to add an activity split into 7 when you have 5 days per week, it is not good to add it directly like that. There are 2 possibilities: if you want activities in the same day consecutive, add a split activity into 5, with components 1 and 2 having duration 2. If you don't need them consecutive, add one act. split into 5 and another act. split into 2, with all having duration 1. Automatically add the constraints min n days between activities with min days 1.

You didn't add constraint min n days for your activity split into 7, just to avoid this situation. This is not good.

No, you are right, no need to split. But students set 6 has 193 hours per week, how is that possible?
