Subjects running simultaneously

Hello,

I'm trying to get a Year 10 Elective to run at the same time as a senior block of subjects but have tried many methods; through grouping, through max/min simultaneous. I've tried making both at a set time but that seems to really screw up the timetable. Maybe there is another constraint I haven't used?

Do you have any suggestions please?

There is the constraint activities same starting time. This is very strong and makes exactly the same pair of Year 10 Elective - senior -> one activity from each one at the same time.

I think you need a constraint activities occupy max time slots from selection. If the activities of Y10-E have 18 hours and of senior have 18 hours, select all these activities, select all slots of the week (with X or with red), max occupied = 18. If they have a different number of hours, say 18 and 16, put the maximum of these two (18) as the max occupied slots.
