I am new to the FET schedule. I collect teachers' names, subject, subject code, and other information from all departments in my institution in an Excel file. Is there any complete Excel sample format so that I can collect data in Excel format and then convert it to CSV format and import to the FET schedule?

Hello and welcome!

The CSV import/export is unfortunately old, and it does not contain long names and codes (a very recent FET addition in the interface). You could open an official FET example and export it to CSV, and have a look at the resulted CSV files, which you can imitate (and import them into FET).

Liviu, importing data from CSV files might be very important for some users. Adding manually data and constraints is time consuming. I think that in many cases 'preparing' your data on a spreadsheet application is much faster than adding manually teachers, students, subjects, etc. Most likely it would be a great idea if importing data from CSV files could include importing these new 'parameters' (long names, codes, etc) PLUS the active/inactive attribute for activities/subactivities.

Indeed, Vangelis, we will try. But for the moment, I would prefer to release a stable version of FET for this summer/autumn.

My organization information is as follows:
About 80 teachers,
Seven different technology (departments) and
Four semesters (as like classes),
Two groups (A, B) each semester.
There are about 250 subjects in all.
The subjects are divided into theory and practical (single class) and triple/double period classes.

Is there an easy way to import this huge amount of data directly into the FET system without manually inputting it?

Yes, I agree with you. Manually entering huge data is time consuming and annoying.
