FET HELP!

Hello,

I'm a FET beginner, so please forgive me if this is a stupid question!

I'm generating a series of secondary school timetables for a personal project. I have implemented a full set of teachers into the Teachers section, each with their desired hours and the subjects they're qualified for.

I want FET to generate the timetables by positioning all activities and assigning teachers from the Qualified pool to those activities. How do I do this? I've tried adding activities with all teachers from a Qualified pool selected per class group (Year 7 classes like 7A, 7B etc.) – but it then reads that the total hours for a teacher is well above the desired (96 rather than 22 for example). How do I resolve this?

Hello, and welcome to the forum!

Unfortunately, "qualified teachers" is just for the interface, to show only the qualified teachers when adding the activities, like a filter.

FET in the Official mode cannot allocate activities to teachers. In this mode each activity has an exact teacher (or none, or more).

FET in the Block planning mode uses tricks to allocate activities (with students and subject) to FET days = real life teachers and to FET hours = real life time slots.
