Allowed number of activities per day for a teacher / student

Hello Mr Liviu,

I would like to suggest two new constraints for FET related to the number of activities per day, one for teachers and another for students.

1. Allowed number of activities per day for a teacher

This constraint would allow the user to control the number of activities assigned to a teacher each day.

The user could specify:

- One exact number, for example: exactly 4 activities per day.
- Several allowed numbers, for example: 2, 4, or 6 activities per day.
- A general condition, such as only even numbers of activities per day.

This could be useful when an institution wants to organize teachers' workloads in a specific way or avoid undesirable daily workloads.

2. Allowed number of activities per day for students

A similar but separate constraint could be provided for students, groups, or subgroups.

For example, the user could specify:

- Exactly 2 activities per day.
- Exactly 4 activities per day.
- 2 or 4 activities per day.
- Any other selected set of numbers.
- Only even numbers of activities per day.

This could be particularly useful for schools where student transportation affects the timetable. For example, a large group of students may need to have exactly 2 or 4 activities on a particular day so that they finish at an appropriate time and can take the school bus.


I think having these as two separate constraints would provide greater flexibility, because the requirements for teachers and students are often different.

I am sorry, but it is practically impossible for FET to allow only a number of hours from a set, or only an even number of hours, per day, for a teacher or a students set. But I added your suggestion in the TODO.
