I don't have .po files. I use other medium for translation: Qt Linguist. You will need to use fet_untranslated.ts, rename it fet_sr.ts . Please read the instructions for how to translate (http://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/forum/index.php?topic=691.msg4187#msg4187)

Please let me know if you will begin work, so I can assign you as a translator. Please let me know any other questions.

veki

Hello,

OK, I have QT Linguist on my Linux machine.
I will contact you today or tomorrow for more details.

Best wishes,

Vedran

veki

I installed QT Linguist and renamed fet_untranslated.ts into fet_rs.ts

I am ready to start.  please let me know are you willing to assigne me as translator so I can start.

Thanks,

veki

It should be fet_sr.ts (not fet_rs)

I am willing to assign you translator, but I would like you to work a bit more with FET, until you obtain at least the timetable for your school. There are some key aspects in FET which you might not translate good if you have no FET experience.

I'll assign you as translator, but please be very careful with the translation and try to follow the exact meaning of the words (I prefer word-by-word translation).

Please also read the instructions (here on forum).

If somebody else gives me a completed Serbian translation, without announcing it, I'll tell him that you are the assigned translator, but maybe you will choose to cooperate with him on that.

Hello,

I have experience with translating software packages. I Translated ATutor www.atutor.ca
openadmin www.rictech.ca/openadmin
eXe  www.exelearning.org
and many otehr software packages.
Yes, I know, I continuously experiment with each software that I translate.  That is normal :)
Regardless of experence it is needed to have good mileage in work with software.
According to your instructions I will translate just a couple of words and save in Qt Lionguist and send to you by mail so you can checkit.

OK?

Mladen Knezic said he is willing to do the Serbian translation. He is from Banjaluka, Bosnia.

Date: Sunday 26 April 2009.

Veki, please inform us if you are still working on the Serbian translation or do you want to abandon work and let me assign Mladen for this job?

I hope you can answer shortly to this post, so I know what to do.

veki

Hello,
You can tell him to contact me so we can coordinate efforts.

OK, I hope you can find a method of collaboration, I told him to join the forum and I'll write him your e-mail. Maybe he can do the larger parts as html or txt files, like the instructions or FAQ.

If you did only a small part of the translation, you may consider leaving him the job of translation from the beginning.

You were the first to announce Sebian translation, so you are the deciding person, but I hope you can decide on the direction to follow so that the Serbian translation is available sooner.

veki

YEs, please tell him to contact me so we can do job together,

Thanks,

vedran

Hello everyone,

Just say hi on this thread... :-) I've contacted Vedran and we'll be in touch for further translation activities...

Liviu Lalescu

I would like the translation to be uniform, that is to be made by a single person. That is why I suggest that, if Vedran's translation is done in a little part (like 10-20% of significant phrases or less), Mladen may restart the translation from the beginning and let Vedran the task to check it and suggest corrections.

Liviu Lalescu

Vedran, I have allowed Mladen to restart the translation, because I understood that you are very busy. If you'll finish before him, we'll talk about that. I hope you can help Mladen with testing the translation.

Hi Liviu Lalescu

I am a new member of this site but I have already heard for this program.
As I've seen there were two members who tried to send you a serbian translation for this program but they gave up I decided to translate english version.Serbian translation I'm working on is almost done.
I must say I'm not alone.I have one friend who is already a member here.We are working this from november 2010 but we have succeeded translating more than 90% of all document.
Too,I will send you a FET screen picture with our translation to be sure we are not making jokes with this exhausting job.

Best wishes from Serbia!

Liviu Lalescu

Yes, it is an exhausting job :-)

Thank you very much!

I'll wait for you to finish the Serbian translation (not necessarily to complete it, just reach the stage where you think it is enough - I am mostly interested in the main form). I'll release a test version and after that, if everything is OK, release the final version. But I am not sure I'll release very soon a new version.

Please send your file to me by e-mail. It is easier for me to work by e-mail. (and maybe attach here on the forum the first version, just so that everybody sees it, so we have a proof of your work).

Please tell me the authors of this translation, in order of contribution, highest first, and their contact information (see the other entries in translators section in FET).

Please check shortcuts (Ctrl+O, N, S, Q, G) and accelerators (Alt+F, etc, like I wrote in the how to translate help, so there are no duplicates), and also check the add activity dialog. Also, check that menu Settings -> Language, that Language is translated in both English and Serbian, like in other translations.

Also, check all-constraints.fet file - all the constraints should be correctly translated, it is critical, and also the main form - especially constraints' description (maybe open in parallel 2 FET's, one in English and one in Serbian).
