Installing FET on Mac OSX 10.5.8

I'm trying to compile FET on my Mac with no luck. I'm not technical enough to do this, so if anyone out there is please walk me through it step-by-step.

I did download QT and I know how to get to the Terminal, but all else fails.

Did you read the README? Did you install Qt? What Qt version? What errors are you getting?

Maybe google for "compile qt project mac" (without quotes).

I am asking this because I don't think there is anyone here with Mac to help you with step-by-step instructions (Mac is not very used).

I know that others tried the Windows exe in a Windows simulator on Mac, but probably it is not nice and FET runs slower.

I did look online for answers, but again could not find something useful. Right now, I'm running Windows XP under Parallels Desktop, which is very slow. I've also used FET on Linux, but it seemed like only an older version was available on Ubuntu when I tried to install it from the package manager.

Yes, unfortunately Linux has old FET versions, and I recommend everybody to get and compile latest version of FET. It is not difficult and I can help if you have specific questions.

About Mac: there is Qt for Mac, and I think you don't need to compile Qt, it may install automatically. The direct link for now to Qt for Mac is: http://get.qt.nokia.com/qtsdk/qt-sdk-mac-opensource-2010.01.dmg . You can go to http://qt.nokia.com and download Qt SDK LGPL for Mac. This I think does not need compilation.

PS: I asked a collaborator who compiled FET for Mac to join this discussion and help you.

You can maybe also use wine.
I didn't used wine under apple, but with linux. With linux the windows executable it is nearly as fast with native windows version. i guess it will be similar with apple. have a look here:

I compiled it on Mac OS 10.4.11(iMac PPC G3) and 10.6.2(MacBook Intel CoreDuo). You need to install Xcode Tools that come with your OS X install disc, or download it for free on developer.apple.com . I use the QT Creator to compile, it's too easy, but not needed. You can follow the read me. Its works. If you want, I can compile a version and send to your e-mail.

Hi everyone, first than anything, congrats for this program I think is very helpfull.
Now, I´m just asking for help on this: I´m a real fool with all this stuff. I have no idea how to converts/compile this program for running on Mac OS 10.5.x and 10.6.x
So, could someone send it "ready to run" on these sistems skipping the fact to compile it? Is tha posible ?

Can anyone send me a copy that runs on OSx Mavricks 10.9.2?

I am in China and cannot download anything form Apple (I have contacted customer support and gone to the apple store to correct this, we are not going to fix it here; it will not be resolved until I return to the US). To make things worse, while there I allowed them to up date my system to the latest OS. Now FET is not working at all.

Please try the new 5.21.0 version. I haven't tested it on any other computer yet. Please let me know if this one work or not. I know it does not work on 32bit machines.

Those two worked; but, the only things in the download directory were:
