Custom FET versions::.
FET is designed to be very flexible. But there are some institutions which need a custom made FET version. FET authors can help you, if it is not too difficult, by making a customized FET variant for your school. Or they can help you with advice on how to do that.
Also, there are sometimes possible tricky approaches, to help with situations for which FET was not designed for, and along with some further customization these approaches bring solutions to important real-life problems. We will list here the most important such tricks and customizations.
We have a dedicated Forum board: https://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/forum/index.php?board=9.0
The main download location for all the custom versions is: here
Currently (last modification 4 October 2022), there are 5 more important custom variants, which we will list here individually. 3 of them are developed for some institutions in some countries, having a possibly more general use, while the other 2 are possibly developed for less general use:
- A version for students sectioning based on students' votes for the subjects and other constraints, used for a Spanish institution,
requested by the user josemgs.
Please see the forum link: https://lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/forum/index.php?topic=4482.0. Updated/modified on 5 June 2020 from FET version 5.44.9.

- FET-AAP - a version for automatic activity planning, requested by the user Christoph Voelker.
In this variant we want to firstly allocate the teachers to activities, and in a second phase use the official FET version to obtain the final timetable. For the first phase we consider that FET days are teachers, FET hours are students sets (in fact two hours for each, for theory and practice), and allocate FET activities without students and teachers to these slots. We needed one new custom constraint, for the maximum hours a real teacher can work (constraint activities occupy max _real_ time slots from selection. There are many things to care for the first phase (automatic activity planning), and also Christoph developed a GNU Octave script to automatically convert the data from an Excel file to a .fet XML file (to be fed into the first-phase custom FET).
This variant might be really useful for more institutions doing activity planning before timetabling.

- FET-AAT - a version to allocate activities to teachers, requested by the user Jude G.
This custom version has activities with students sets and subject, and without teachers. It allocates the activities to FET time slots: the FET days are the teachers and the FET hours are the real-life time slots.
This variant might be useful for institutions doing allocation of the activities to the teachers.

- A version to allocate dolphins and therapists to patients and real-life time slots, requested by the user Paul the dolphin.
This variant considers that a FET hour is a dolphin and a FET day is a time slot and a therapist. Cells in this FET table (FET activities without teachers and students) are patients. There was made a little customization to "compress" the FET timetable to a real-life view.

- A version to allocate teachers to students for a Music and Sport school, requested by the user Peter B.
In this variant we have that the timetable for each real day is the same. So we treated FET hours as real teachers, FET days as real hours, and allocated activities (without teachers) to this FET table.
